Day 123: Boom Truck Smooth Operator

Hallelujah!!! Something noticeable is happening on Faith Lane.
Brett took the day off to go out and learn how to use a Boom Truck and put up Roof Trusses!

Brett stayed on the ground to help hook up the trusses and guide them up. Then Ray and Jason would hammer them down and secure them. It is tricky business. They are pretty amazing to spend all day up there on the balls of their feet on the edge of the house. When I came out to visit, Tom (Boom Truck Owner) let me operate the truck. I'm one Smooth Operator! [OK- not really... Tom ran the controls from the other side but it looked like I was running that baby!] Holy Moly- a Boom Truck is a necessity but SOOOO expensive! They charge you every minute the truck is on your property whether it's running or not. It's like $125+ an hour. Ouch!

I hung out on Faith Lane until they got up all the trusses. The last truss was a pain. It wouldn't lay right. So frustrating!

When they got most of it up and secured, they let me go inside. Here's our vaulted ceiling part of the family room & kitchen area. We are so excited!

Our 6-foot covered porches are going to be amazing!

A reminder of why we LOVE this land... Our view from me standing under our back covered porch! Luv it!!!
